Music: My top six albums at the moment!

As my exams get closer and closer and the stress of big assignments starts getting to me, I find myself listening to music more often to calm me down, even craving it when I’m at school or work. I thought I’d write up this little post just to share my top six albums at the moment!

1.  Look Cat Meow – Dino Club.

I have to start off by saying that this album is definitely not for everyone. If I told my mom to listen to this album, she’d probably tell me to “turn that crap off”, but this album definitely defines my taste in music. I love how real the lyrics are, they’re just simple and so easy to relate to. They never fail to put a smile on my face and calm my nerves.

2.  All the Way – Allstar Weekend.

I would like to start by saying to all of you who call them a ‘Disney band’ that they are not, and if you listen to this album, that will become very clear very quickly. It was an internal battle between All the Way and Look Cat Meow for the top spot, both of the albums are just that good. There is such a variety of songs on this album, they’re all amazing and not one sounds like the next.

3.  The Stronger the Love – Action Item.

My brother likes to describe this style of music as “slow pop-rock”. These songs are so different from everything I’ve ever heard. They’re meaningful and innocent, some of the songs make you want to get up and dance, others just make you want to sway from side to side, and some make you want to curl up in bed with your ipod and relax. These songs are so powerful to me. Not only is their music amazing, but Action Item are the 5 sweetest guys I’ve ever met, it’s so easy to become a fan of them, and once you’re pulled in, there’s no getting out.

4. A Little More Free – Katelyn Tarver.

To be honest, I love everything about Katelyn Tarver, I love her singing, I love her acting, I love her style, I love her face, I just love her. Many know her as Jo on Big Time Rush but she also has her very own EP, A Little More Free. Her songs are so free-spirited and uplifting, it’s definitely my go-to album when I need a pick-me-up.

5.  Everything’s Fine – The Summer Set.

When the Summer Set released Everything’s Fine earlier this year, I was blown away. First of all, Brian Dales’ voice is a gift sent from god, this album really tells a story, you just have to listen to it to interpret it for yourself.

6. Whatever – Hot Chelle Rae.

This album just makes me happy. There have been many times where I have blasted it on my stereo and danced around my living room with my dog, it’s just an album that makes you want to dance and be happy. You know when you’re happy and you just want to put on music and jump around? This is my go-to album for a dance sesh anyday.

It was so hard to pick my top six, but I think they thoroughly define my taste in music. Some other contenders were: Up All Night – One Direction, Unbroken – Demi Lovato, Fast Life – Joe Jonas, Mylo Xyloto – Coldplay, Hot Mess – Cobra Starship, Letting Go – Before You Exit, The After Party EP – The After Party, Days Difference – Days Difference, and Miles And Miles – Stephen Jerzak. I hope you enjoyed this long post about my taste in music and I hope I turned you on to some new artists! :)
